Volunteer at Blackfen Community Library
Looking for a way to give back while staying connected and fulfilled? Volunteering with Blackfen Community Library means becoming part of our community of over 80 volunteers, that values every contribution!
We offer a variety of flexible volunteering roles, from IT Buddies, Book Buddies, Kids Crafts, Rooted Coffee House, School Holiday Events support, organising and tidying our library stock and much more! Whether you can spare an hour a week or more, there’s a place for you.
Volunteering not only changes lives, but it can improve your own. Studies show that volunteering reduces stress, increases life satisfaction, and strengthens mental well-being. 77% of volunteers say it improves their mental health.
As part of our Blackfen Community Library family, you’ll be supported through training, regular socials and even a Christmas celebration.
If you are interested in joining the team, we’d love to hear from you. Please click on the positions shown to find out more and complete the application form. Or reach out to our Volunteer Manager, Eleanor, who would love to chat to you! You can contact Eleanor by email at volunteers@blackfencommunitylibrary.org or pop in the library for a chat.
Come and make a difference, both for someone else and for yourself!
Volunteer Roles
Donating Books or Jigsaws
We welcome all donations of new and good condition books or jigsaws. We will either add them to our stock or sell them on to help us raise funds for the Library. Please drop donations to the front desk during our opening hours. Thank you!
