We are so lucky in our library to have received a donation of nearly 100 new books from The Reading Agency.
This is an organisation whose aim is to get everybody reading their way to a better life. They believe that reading can tackle life’s big challenges, from social mobility to mental health. These new books that we have recently received are part of The Reading Well scheme which help you to understand and manage your health and wellbeing through useful reading. There is something for everyone so please do look out for them on our shelves.
The books are all recommended by health experts, as well as people with lived experiences of the conditions and topics covered and their relatives and carers. Reading Well for Young People recommends expert endorsed books about mental health, providing 13 to 18 year olds with advice and information about issues like anxiety, stress and OCD, and difficult experiences like bullying and exams.

The Reading Well for Children book collection is targeted at children in primary school and includes titles suitable for a wide range of reading levels to support less confident readers, and to encourage children to read together with their siblings and carers.
