Why we are offering free lunches for children in the school holidays at Rooted Coffee House in Blackfen Community Library?

Inspired by Marcus Rashford’s campaign to extend free school meals for eligible children over the school holidays, we want to help to make sure no child goes hungry.

Some of our own Rooted Coffee House team have experienced firsthand what it’s like to be a child and see their mum go without food just to enable them to eat. We are not just a library and a coffee house but a community hub, making a difference to our community.

Families can come and collect a free lunch bag for each of their children, no questions asked and no other purchase is necessary.

What’s in the kids eat free lunch bag?

We will supply a kid’s sandwich, a piece of fruit, a bag of crisps with a choice of kid’s drink.

How many can I have?

You can come and get a bag for every one of your children, every day of the school holidays Tuesday-Saturday.

So if you are struggling for any reason during the pandemic to feed your children please visit us at Rooted Coffee House in Blackfen Community Library and ask for a ‘Free Kid’s Lunch’
